Can I search for a word in the AI Dictionary?

Yes, you can search.  Please enter the word in the search tab on the top right of the Edit page, and you will see the AI Dictionary entry/ ies, below the Glossary Matches on the side panel. For the searched terms, AI dictionary works similarly to a common dictionary,  and shows general meaning/s of the searched term.
